It seems ridiculous that GPs from the same practice are treated as "different" doctors (for accusations of "doctor shopping"). I usually see one particular doctor, but if she isn't available, I see a different one. They can all see my notes and anything that is prescribed. It isn't like going to a different practice where they don't know you. I'm glad you got them.

Yes, I was naive. I still want to believe that people - doctors - are driven by the best of intensions, and would not hurt patients.

This is wrong. Doctors who do not keep up with the science and believe that opioids are not safe and effective do lie. I didn't want to believe it.

But its true. Doctors have so little respect for people who have severe, daily, disabling chronic pain...they believe we are addicts...that they think its OK to LIE. I will be running a campaign on this. Because the truth, even if Idon't like it, is better than a lie.

What a clusterfluff! Fortunate it got sorted and that you hopefully have back up options for the future but it shouldn’t be that hard.

I’m currently having to see my GP every 10-12 days for my scripts because he can’t (or won’t, I’m not sure) do more than one box at a time of instant release. Thankfully he’s bulk billing me but it’s costing me $50 in Uber fares each appointment and like you I’m on the DSP.

That's terrible! I believed that doctor, becuase I am still naive and thought 'a doctor would not lie'. But now I realise that some doctors will lie blatently to make their life a little easier. I think your doctor is not being truthful with you, becuase there is no reason to make you come in every 10-12 days. $50 in uber fares! I'm sure you could use that money elsewhere! That truly appalls me. DSP is barely surviving. Does your GP know that you need to uber to see him?

I'm sorry, but I'm just disgusted by how difficult some GPs are making pain management. Obviously you can't drive, obviously you can't afford this. I just can't fathom what he thinks he's achieving here, by making your life so much more difficult!

Maybe you could consider taking the law into your own hands, given medicine is failing you. A friend of mine gets stems and roots from a friend who grows his own dope plants. He steeps them in vodka to make a tincture. Cheap and effective - for his pain at least - and he has been doing it for many years. Maybe suitable to keep in your freezer for emergencies. There are also other natural opiod plants out there to forage but I am guessing foraging may not be viable for you.

GP’s have zero remorse and will lie, all the time!

You are only considered a drug seeker by safe script if you see more than 4 GPs at different clinics over a 90 day period for s8 & s4 medications.

If you see 3 in 90 day period from the same clinic you will be fine.

Your pharmacist had no right to do that to you, especially if you have only seen 1 GP and been to 1 chemist, I don’t understand how this could have happened after an explanation - GPs go away all the time! I would follow up with that. Outrageous!!

I always ensure my GP has a chat to their colleague to make sure it will be OK to prescribe to me if they have planned leave, in the past I have suffered & learned.

I am sick of the stigma, and I have been through it all. I have trauma from past experiences that now cause me to shake uncontrollably before my scheduled monthly appointment, I have nothing to worry about & the call lasts all of 30 seconds, but the body remembers. My body remembers what the medical industry has put me through & how I’ve been made to feel all because I want a better quality of life for myself!
